Covid-19 Update – Hall Opening

We are hoping to tentatively re-open certain events over the next few months with hygiene measures and social distancing controls in place.

Risk assessments and protocols have been written for Charlie’s bar from the end of July onwards, a coffee morning on September 1st and a film night on September 11th. All these events are organised and run by the management committee of the hall.

Charlie’s bar has now had a trial opening and everything worked well with regard hygiene and protocols, including contact free payment and table service. The bar is open from 6pm until about 9pm every Thursday evening and all are welcome.

There will be a coffee and chat morning on Tuesday September 1st from 10am until midday.

On Friday September 11th there will be a film night showing “Military Wives” cert 12A. Booking has to be in advance only since we are limiting the number of people allowed in the hall. For booking and enquiries ring 01299 896412 or email greatwitleyvillagehall@gmail.com

The playground at the rear of the hall is now open but with advice on how to stay safe. The area is not cleaned regularly so it is upto users to act responsibly. The Quatergreen multi-sports area is also open and bookings can be made at the post office.

For those who wish to book the hall for private functions, clubs etc. the booking rules have been updated to include guidelines for hirers of the hall. These include cleaning all regularly used surfaces before, during and after using the hall, being responsible for managing social distancing, being responsible for personal hygiene and recording names and numbers for all users for track and trace purposes. To this end the hall will provide hand sanitising stations and cleaning materials.

It should go without saying that anyone showing any symptoms of the virus should stay at home and organise a test.

At this stage event such as childrens parties, choirs and orchestras would not be possible The intention is to keep everyone safe whilst attempting to return to some sort of new normality and we understand that some of you will not feel comfortable in returning to any sort of gathering, but the hall is there for those who wish to venture out again. If you need to discuss anything further then please get in touch.
